A.J. was selected fifth overall in the 2006 NFL Draft by the Packers and had a paramount rookie season, leading the team with 155 tackles and finishing third in the Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year voting. He continues with his stellar performance in the 2007 season with 103 tackles, 1 forced fumble, and an interception.

Hawk's college career was with the distinguished Ohio State Buckeyes where he was a two-time All-American and completed 394 tackles, 41 stops for loss, 15 sacks, 7 interceptions, 13 passes broken, 2 fumbles recovered, and 3 forced fumbles. In his senior year in 2005, he won the Lombardi Award presented annually to college football's most outstanding lineman or linebacker.
